Gorilla Lawyer: Simian at Law is a TV series about a gorilla that works as a lawyer among humans. It is mentioned throughout The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, and is George and Harold's favorite show. However, as revealed by Melvin in 'The Heartbreaking Havoc of the Haunting Hack-A-Ween', the show was cancelled when the titular gorilla went berserk and climbed to the top of a tall building, although George and Harold still seem to love it.

Usage in the Show[]

Initially, this show is simply used for comic relief, with the show cutting to it throughout a given episode. However, it first comes into the spotlight in 'Captain Underpants and the Shadowy Syndrome of the Sinister Splotch', when George and Harold use it as inspiration to help them defend Captain Underpants in court. Gorilla Lawyer is brought up a few more times after that, but the last we hear of the show is in 'The Heartbreaking Havoc of the Haunting Hack-A-Ween', when Melvin talks about it getting cancelled, to which George replies "Eh, what can I say, the Gorilla went nuts"

  • Gorilla Lawyer climbing up a building with planes attacking it when the show's cancellation is referenced is a reference to King Kong.
  • In 'Captain Underpants and the Costly Conundrum of the Calamitous Claylossus' Bo mentions his favorite show as being a show called 'Turtle Lawyer', which is presumably a Gorilla Lawyer spinoff of some sort, about a Turtle who is a lawyer. Although Melvin states that it isn't as good as Gorilla Lawyer
